Winning Ways Team
The Winning Ways Team is committed to providing a personal service to all syndicate members by keeping all members equally well informed and ensuring that you get the most out of your experience with us.
Oran Crean, Syndicate Manager
Oran´s first foray into racehorse ownership was with the seven member Novices syndicate, owners of Brave Inca. An accountant by profession, Oran identified a need for experienced people to offer a quality, transparent racehorse ownership service to those keen on getting involved in the wonderful sport of horseracing. Establishing Winning Ways with two friends and keen racegoers, John Flood and John Duggan, Oran´s focus is on maximising your enjoyment and thrill of racehorse ownership, while you live the dream.
Oran (pictured with Ruby Walsh) has responsibility for the day-to-day management of Winning Ways´ syndicates. This includes finding like minded partners to join your Winning Ways syndicate, managing the daily administration of the syndicate, liaising with our trainer and providing regular updates as well as organising stable visits every five to six weeks. Oran is also involved in the selection of all Winning Ways horses, along with our trainer, Colm Murphy, and our bloodstock adviser, John Flood. Oran was recently appointed to the Council of the Association of Irish Racehorse Owners with a specific interest in syndicate matters.
John Flood, Bloodstock Adviser
John Flood gained valuable experience in the banking industry before returning to his family´s Boardsmill Stud in Co. Meath, where he is now a key member of the Stud team. John´s family is steeped in horse racing tradition. Boardsmill Stud was founded in 1935 and has been the home of many top class stallions, including Furry Glen and Orchestra, and racehorses, including Champion Hunter Chaser Wilbar.
Recently John completed the acquisition of leading national hunt stallion prospect Kalanisi from the Aga Khan. John has extensive experience in the preparation of young horses for sales and is also an active buyer at the leading sales, for both his own account and on behalf of clients, family and friends. John will use his experience to identify quality individuals for Winning Ways.
John Duggan, Racing Liaison Officer
John Duggan has tasted success as an owner at the highest level with his father´s homebred Say Again, winner of the Grade 1 Swordlestown Cup at the Punchestown Festival in 2004 and the Guinness Galway Hurdle in 2002. A chartered accountant by profession, John´s role as racing liaison officer will assist the Syndicate Manager in ensuring that you receive a personal service at all times, both on and off the racecourse.
Our Commitment to You
At Winning Ways, we can´t guarantee you a winner at the Cheltenham Festival, but we can guarantee that you will be part of a professionally managed syndicate that will maximise the enjoyment and thrill of racehorse ownership for you, while you live the dream!
